Let There Be Light!

Star of wonder, star of might
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

From the beginning the Father
Had a magnificent plan
Revealed through the law and the profit
To fulfill the redemption of man

You spoke after centuries of silence
In the midst of a still, starry night
And Emmanuel came down among us
And the Father said "Let there be light"

Let there be light, let it shine bright
Piercing the darkness with dazzling white
Hope for the hopeless was born on that night
When God sent His Son, He said let there be light

People who walked in great darkness
Gathered from near and from far
People with flocks in their keeping
Three kings who followed a star

Together the poor and the richest
Witnessed that Bethlehem night
And a sky full of angels announcing
The birth of the glorious light

Let there be light, let it shine bright
Piercing the darkness with dazzling white
Hope for the hopeless was born on that night
When God sent His Son, He said let there be light

We who are His have this calling
To praise Him and make His name known
So one day the presence of Jesus
Shine in every heart and every home

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Yeah...Told You I Was Bad At This :(

Well, Merry Almost Christmas!  I will be adding pictures from the last month soon!  We have been so busy.  Between Christmas shopping, Christmas parties, Nutcracker, and children's programs at church.  Today I am going to Kirsten's school, as the room mother for her room.  I'm excited!  She was excited although not thrilled about what I sent her to school in.  I hope everyone enjoys their Holiday Season.  And look for pictures soon!

The Rockettes

Saturday night Kirsty Jo, Nanny, my Mom and I went and saw the Rockettes in Wichita.  It was so much fun to see my daughter ooh and ahh over the show.  The special effects were amazing and when put with the dancing and singing it really was just a wonderful show.  Here are a few pictures ....

Thanksgiving

Psalm 95 1-6 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come before His presence with THANKSGIVING.  Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.  for the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also.  the sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

I have so many things I am thankful for family, friends a job that I love ...just to name a few.

I'm also thankful for this smile

Inspiration for My Blog Title!

I love this song by Sara Evans...

She gets up every mornin', while everyone's in bed
Starts the coffee, makes the breakfast for all those sleepy heads
Yeah, yeah, some things never change

He comes in all dressed for work saying "Baby I love you"
Gotta go, even though, it's not what he wants to do
But he does it, yeah some things never change

Cause in a world that keeps turnin' and movin' so fast
When you can't hold on to nothing and nothing seems to last
It's so good to know, that love still remains
Ain't ya glad that some things never change

Three o'clock every afternoon, waitin' by the door
Sees her babies are running off the bus, she couldn't love them anymore
Yeah, yeah some things never change

Like when I'm lyin' next to you, well I remember when
Your kisses made me crazy, so beautiful back then and I still feel the same
Oh, some things never change

Cause in a world that keeps turnin' and movin' so fast
When you can't hold onto nothin' and nothin' seems to last
It's so good to know, that love still remains
Ain't ya glad, that some things never change

Happy Birthday!

Tuesday was John's Birthday!  We celebrated by eating dinner with Nanny and Paw Paw Friday night and then Saturday night we invited his family, my parents and some friends over for dinner at our house.  It was a lot of fun but I didn't get any pictures of Saturday night.  I will add some pictures from Friday night later, I had to take them with my mom's camera and I don't have the camera right now.

Wednesday as I said was Zoey's birthday.  She had a great birthday, from what I hear.  It was in Chicago and I didn't get to go :(

About a week after Zoey was born I heard about Brinley.  Brinley is John's cousins daughter.  So today we had Brinley's first birthday.  Her parents, Bionca and Ozzie got married a few weeks ago and I had a blast decorating for that.  Next weekend we are having a baby shower for Bionca and I've been hard at work on that too.  But for now here are some adorable pictures of adorable Brinley....Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Unwrapping her presents .... she had LOTS!

Wasn't so sure about her cake at first....

Here Dad I don't want this....

Ozzie, Brinley and Bionca

Now she's getting into it ....

YUM!!!!!!

That was great!

I will add more pictures of John's birthday party when I get the camera back from my mom!
Have a great week everyone!

Happy Birthday Zoey!

A year ago today I was teaching preschool in Ark City and was on pins and needles as I awaited a phone call from my best friends in Chicago.  That phone call was to tell me about Zoey!  Today she is a beautiful, healthy one year old.  She brings joy to us all!  I love you Zoey (Josh and Tasha too!) Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Welcome to Blogging

Welcome to our blog...I'm hoping that I am dedicated enough to keep this going.  I started this blog so that I can share pictures and fun things my family is doing with friends and family that do not live near by.

I will start with telling you a little about us.  John turned 27 today and I (Kacie) am 25 (for a few more months).  We dated in high school and got back together about 5 years ago.  John and I have been married for almost 4 of those years.

We have a beautiful little girl, her name is Kirsten and turned 5 in June.  She started Kindergarten this year at Country View Elementary and it has been a new experience for us.  She loves school and I love that she loves school.

We have a handsome little man, his name is Marc and he is 3.  Don't worry, he has EVERYTHING under control. He goes to daycare during the day, and has made some new friends.  He loves his daycare provider, Sally, as well as Sally's mom and brothers.  In his spare time he enjoys working on tractors and trucks with his daddy.

John works at a tractor dealership in Winfield and I recently quit teaching and am learning/loving my new job as a Case Manager at CCL in Winfield.

We attend church at Grace United Methodist Church.  Our weeks are spent at school, work and daycare and in the evenings dance lessons, homework and the usual.

I guess that is the basic update on us.  I pray that you and your families are healthy and happy.
